User Guide

The Arts Calendar is restricted to arts and cultural activities happening in Oakville that are open to the public.

Arts and cultural activity includes concerts, exhibits, performances, festivals, arts and culture workshops / seminars / conferences / classes and other arts and culture related activity. If an admission fee is applicable to the event, it must be fully disclosed.

It is important that your events be entered correctly, as we use this information for promotions.

Please note the following policy guidelines:

  • The event you are submitting must be your event. Your calendar description should be similar to the following example:

Jane Smith will be exhibiting her original work with the Any Town Artists on May 1, 2010 at 123 Charcoal Avenue. For more information visit www.abcarts.com or contact Jane at jsmith@emailaddress.ca

or, as an arts organization of festival, you might have a guest whose name you might wish to include in the description:

Poets Unlimited presents: an evening of readings with poet Jon Black. Join us at the Quill Cafe downtown on August 15. No charge. For more information visit www.poetsul.com contact poets@emailaddress.ca

  • Events must be arts-related. We do not post any other type of event.

Please note the following procedural guidelines:

  • All fields must be complete; please be sure to select a category/discipline.
  • Please ensure that you include contact information in the main content box where you put the description of your event. Events that do not include this information will not be uploaded and you will need to re-enter the information. 
  • It is a good idea to include your website address.
     
  • Please note that the server/program can be overwhelmed by a rush to enter events. It is best to enter your events as far in advance of the deadline (s) as possible.
  • It is the responsibility of the member or group representative to enter events.  Orientation is available at the Oakville Arts Council office, please contact artscouncil@oakville.ca to make an appointment.

  • Please note that due to print publication deadlines, we are not able to publish any information that is entered after the deadlines.



Please note the following deadline for event list in the Oakville Beaver Community Calendar:
the 10th of each month
