We are a national membership organization for Canadian orchestras. Our mission is to be the united national voice of the Canadian orchestral community, furthering and enriching the work of Canadian orchestras through programs and services in both official languages. We seek to be at the forefront of advocacy and leadership development for Canadian orchestras, taking informed action for the benefit of orchestras and the communities they serve.
The Canadian Federation of Musicians [CFM] (formerly referred to as AFM Canada) is the leading professional organization of its kind available to Canadian musicians. As the distinctly Canadian division of AFM, the CFM negotiates fair agreements for Canadian members, works diligently to protect ownership of recorded music, secures benefits such as health care and pension for its membership, and actively lobby legislators on Copyright reform and other matters of interest to professional musicians living and working in Canada.
Canadian Independent Music Association. CIMA’s mandate is to develop and advocate policies and services that serve to support a strong and economically stable Canadian independent music and sound recording industry, ensuring the long-term development of the sector and to raise the profile of Canadian independent music both in Canada and around the world.
The recording studio is a newly designed studio in QEPCCC that opened March 2012. The large 30 by 15 feet acoustically treated recording floor allows clients to tackle a wide variety of projects.
Founded in 1982, FACTOR - The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings - is one of the most significant sources of financial assistance offered to help sustain and grow the independent Canadian music industry.
Choral Canada is the national voice of the Canadian choral community, representing and uniting a network of conductors, educators, composers, administrators, choral industry leaders, and more than 40,000 choral singers from coast to coast to coast. Choral Canada advocates for Canadian choral music and musicians and encourages excellence in the choral art through our programs. By connecting choral communities with information, resources for professional development, and advocacy tools, Choral Canada inspires greater awareness of choral singing across the nation.
Show choir is where pop music and musical theatre fans dance (and sing) on common ground. Therefore, it is fitting that Show Choir Canada combines the talents of the professional arts industry with the expertise of arts educators. At the helm are representatives from the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, which trains Canada’s Triple Threat talent, and da Costa Talent Management, which represents some of Canada s leading actors, dancers, singers, and world-class choreographers.
